1. MUSCIAL -- player must provide his/her own music player

  1. Musical Kata can not exceed two minutes
  2. Kata must be at least 75 % on beat with music
  3. Kata will be scored within a 10 point decimal system (range 5.0-8.0 underbelt and 8.0-10 Black Belt
  4. Tied competitors must perform again to break the tie;
  5. Underbelts must do the same or different music Kata
  6. Black Belts must do a different Kata
  7. If competitor starts their performance again their will be automatic point deduction of .10
  8. If competitors start over judges score can not exceed the average range of that division

 2. WEAPONS – player must be an authentic martial art weapon with no sharp or dangerous edges

  1. All competitors must have a martial art style of uniform (no T-shirts)
  2. No jewelry will be worn
  3. In Black Belt traditional form divisions there must no additions or modified techniques
  4. In Black Belt open divisions traditional forms will not allowed or meet the criteria
  5. In underbelt divisions open and traditional forms are combined
  6. Form can not exceed two minutes
  7. Scoring range same as above

3. KATA – There will be no uniform or patch criteria in underbelt or Black Belt

  1. All competitors must have a martial art style of uniform (no T-shirts)
  2. No jewelry will be worn
  3. In Black Belt traditional form divisions there must no additions or modified techniques
  4. In Black Belt open divisions traditional forms will not allowed or meet the criteria
  5. In underbelt divisions open and traditional forms are combined

 4. EQUIPMENT

  1. Regulations (foam covered) equipment must be worn: head gear, gloves, and feet
  2. Mouth piece and groin cup (males) mandatory
  3. Optional equipment; rib protector, shin guard, and face shield

 5. KUMITE -- All underbelts divisions

  1. First competitor to score 5 points is winner
  2. All kicks 2 points
  3. All hand techniques 1 point
  4. No face contact light contact to the side of the head moderate contact to the body
  5. No sweeps or ground fighting is allowed
  6. One warning for any infractions with the exception of unsportsmanlike

6. KUMITE -- Adult Black Belt divisions

  1. Light face contact
  2. First competitor to score 7 points is the winner
  3. All kicks 2 points
  4. All hand techniques 1 point
  5. Sweeps are allowed but only to the front leg boot to boot with a follow up technique
  6. No warnings in Adult Black Belt divisions and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated
  7. Judges should point to the side of the competitor when a point is awarded or infraction occurred
  8. during the match and not directly at the competitor

 7. INFRACTIONS

  1. Intentional fleeing the ring (both feet are out of the ring)
  2. EXCESSIVE contact
  3. Intentional contact to any part of the body that is not a target area
  4. No pushing, pulling, stomping (a grab is legal only with an immediate technique following)
  5. NO techniques below the belt, or groin techniques, no techniques to the back
  6. Light to moderate head and face contact is allowed
  7. Disrespect or dishonor will result in disqualification and can occur without a prior warning

 8. ORGANIZATION

  1. 2 side judges and 1 center referee are mandatory in underbelt division
  2. 5 judges are mandatory in Adult Black Belt Kata only
  3. The center referee has full control of the ring
  4. Instructors are not to judge their own students
  5. The ring size will be 18X18

 9. GRIEVENCES AND PROTESTS

  1. All grievances must be filed at the TIME OF THE ISSUE.
  2. Only a students INSTRUCTIOR can file a grievance.  In the absence of an instructor a parent may file.
  3. A grievance may be filed with the center referee only
  4. The center referee may confer with side judges
  5. The center referee’s decision is final
  6. The will be a $25.00 fee charged for each protest, which will be returned only is the protest is upheld
  7. Protests can only be filed after a legal grievance

 Protests can only be filed with the tournament arbitrator AT THE TIME OF ISSUE

 ANY RULES NOT COVERED WILL FALL TO THE DISCRETION OF THE ARBITRATOR
